Tomi Kanehara creates vessels from a Japanese clay body and ash glaze produced from locally harvested wood. Each one is wheel thrown gracefully thin, and finished lightly with a delicate striped pattern and muted colors. The chemical composition of the clay and glaze is unique to a region near Kyoto.
