We are proud to offer the work of Kogi Yoshikawa, who produces magnificently understated Shigaraki-yaki ware. His collection has an archaic flavor of old Japan, distinctive to the Lake Biwa region. Shigaraki pottery originated in the city of Shiga around 730 AD. It belongs to one of the six founding schools of Japanese pottery, all of which are focused on the clay found naturally within in a particular region.
