Dustin’s cups are gracefully minimal in appearance, rich in content, with something to say. Each piece is hand thrown from porcelain, with the exterior surface smoothed to a fine velvety texture, onto which words are placed. The print and surface treatment is Dustin’s signature technique, as is the narrative context of each piece.

The artists explains, "This text is a response to homophobia in our culture, a culture which frequently claims to believe that sexuality is not a big deal, not an issue worth discussing, yet is something that some of us have no choice but to confront. By reclaiming this phrase and juxtaposing it with a delicate object, I aim to make an uncomfortable object for the domestic setting."
